Tuan Bui's Testimony
My name is Tuan Bui. My dad was a Vietnam war veteran when he fled from Vietnam and went to Thailand and there he met my mom, and it was there in Chonburi Thailand of 1991 that I was born. In 1993, when I was 2 years old we were able to travel to America in hope of a better life. Our first city we lived in was Houston, Texas. My parents worked hard to make sure we were provided for. We lived in Houston for about 3-4 years, then we moved to Athens, Texas and lived there for about 3-4 years. Then we moved back to Houston for 2 months and after that we headed to San Angelo, Texas and lived there for 3-4 years... afterwards we moved to Baytown, Texas and that is where I currently reside. My whole life I grew up catholic... My dad was faithful to it, and we went to church often.. I always knew and believed that JESUS died for my sins on a cross but I never thought much of it. Until one day GOD sent me the Truth. For as much as I knew it was a normal school day, but I had no idea that my world was about to be ROCKED!!
I was in cooking class and I kept pestering my teacher about something, but I didn't know I was pestering a Apostolic Holy Ghost filled lady. And She begin to tell me about the LORD and back then I didn’t know what I felt but I’m sure now that it was the HOLY GHOST that begin to move upon me as she spoke the Word of the LORD (Acts 10:44). GLORY TO GOD! After that I went to Peace Tabernacle for About 1 month and received that Revelation that JESUS IS LORD! (Acts 2:36), And that I must Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost(Acts 2:38). However, my dad did not like that so then he kept me from going back to it. Then I went back into the world but the thought of what happened to me on that fateful school day and what I experienced in an Apostolic Church in that one month, NEVER left my mind. Every time I would sin I would feel so Convicted and that if I did not get on my knees and ask for forgiveness from the LORD, I could not take another step!! I battled that for about 6 months. Then after 6 months I met a young Baptist kid who was on fire for God and it was then that I made up my mind that even though my dad wouldn’t let me go to church I was still going to read the Word and pray and try my best to develop a relationship with JESUS, and that relationship begin to grow(James 4:8). Then one day in the summer of 2008, after being kept from going to Peace Tabernacle, the LORD softened my dad’s heart and he allowed my to go to Peace Tabernacle again. I was so excited that I was about to jump out of my skin! So then I was going to church and my hunger to receive the Holy Ghost just begin to grow.
Then on July 16, 2008 I manned up and stepped out into the isle and walked to that Alter and begin to pray, and the Church laid their hands on me and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them(Acts 2:2-3), And it was Awesome! The Holy Ghost was so strong that I couldn’t even stand on my knees because they were shaking so much. I just fell flat on my face the rest of the service and prayed in tongues. After that I hurried to get baptized in JESUS name because I knew that Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:5). So I Told my Pastor “Brother Grant, I’ve Got to get baptized” and he told me “Son, if you “got” to get baptized, then I’ve “got” to baptize you”. And so on August 24, 2008 when I was 17 years old, I was Baptized in JESUS name and officially received Salvation! I felt so pure and clean and new after I came up out of that water! That my sins are gone forever, left back on that Cross! And since then I’ve never looked back because I don‘t have anything to look back too. I’ve been living for the LORD for about 8 months now, and it has been Awesome, And I know it will continue to get better each and everyday. I thank Him daily for his tender mercies and loving kindness, and live each and every moment seeking to please Him. That in forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14).
